Debbie Slater is the sole proprietor of Granta IP Services Ltd and is focussed on providing a pragmatic and business-focussed approach to IP management and protection. Granta IP is based in the village of Meldreth located between Cambridge and Royston.

Debbie is a UK Chartered Patent Attorney & IP management consultant with over 40 years’ corporate and private practice experience in Australia and the UK. She has worked in large corporate environments such as Vickers PLC and Nokia Mobile Phones and has more recently been employed as in-house patent attorney for a Manchester based tech start up and an engineering company in Cambridge. She has also worked in private practice.

She has extensive experience in assisting clients with protecting and managing their IP portfolios, carrying out audits and implementing processes to more effectively manage their IP.

With a degree in Physics from the University of Leeds, she has experience with drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in physics, electronics, and computer-related inventions as well as general mechanical inventions.

Debbie also has postgraduate qualifications in education and has used this expertise to assist professional services firms, professional bodies and corporations in the development, implementation and delivery of IP professional education and training programmes.

Debbie is member of Council of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA), with a focus on the education and training and is Chair of the CIPA Education Committee.
